About me
Welcome,
my name is Christian Beilke and I live in Bad Soden (near Frankfurt) in Germany. I am a trained holistic health coach, an Academy of Culinary Nutrition Certified Instructor and Culinary Nutrition Expert, a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, a habit coach and fitness trainer. I hold a degree in business administration and prior to pursuing my dream of becoming a professional health coach, I worked for over twenty years as a manager in investment banking, both in Frankfurt and London.
From my own experience I know too well what a huge toll our hectic Western lifestyle can take on eating habits and our general wellbeing, especially if you work in a highly competitive and demanding environment that rarely leaves enough time to recover from a long, stressful working day. Years of living to work coupled with a poor diet, lack of exercise and adequate recovery started to take its toll on my body. Eventually I would have ended with a serious disease or burnout. As the signs that I had failed my body were blatantly obvious, I decided to put my old life upside down and finally take responsibility for my own health and happiness. Since then I have travelled a long distance towards a healthy, vibrant and energetic lifestyle and my passion now is all about sharing my vision of eating clean, natural and simple foods to nourish the body, mind and soul.
If not working with clients, in the kitchen developing recipes or the gym, you can usually find me outdoors with my dog Dan enjoying nature while working on my mobility and movement skills.
I am a huge advocate of a non-dogmatic approach to nutrition and I strongly believe every nutritional plan needs to be tailored to each individual’s unique needs, goals and vision. A combination of evidence-based science and common sense should always prevail over rigid, one-size-fits-all diets. Constantly expanding my knowledge base by attending webinars, seminars, courses and workshops helps me to provide my clients with the most current evidence-based information available.
I use a holistic approach to nutrition. There’s little doubt that food is our best choice and diet plays a significant role in determining our health, but, ultimately, it’s only one piece of the puzzle. We can’t overlook the importance of other lifestyle and environmental factors such as physical activity, stress, sleep and environmental toxins.
Finally, nutrition is a very complex and often contradictory field and I do not have all the answers and definitely don’t pretend to. What I do have is an innate drive to learn, the ability to find and communicate information to my clients in an easy-to-understand language, a high level of intrinsic motivation and an open mind that is not afraid to question and update my beliefs in the face of new evidence.
